MHW Named as an FQHC

Effective November 1, 2013, Mountain Health & Wellness has added a new dimension to our identity. We are now a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). Health Resource Services Administration’s (HRSA) grant award process is extremely competitive and challenging, but with undaunted perseverance, we made it!! To the best of our knowledge, we are the first behavioral health organization in Arizona to receive this award and the only new FQHC award for Arizona this year. This says a lot about our pioneering spirit and innovative model of health and wellness.

This is truly a proud and transformative event for us and for our community. As an FQHC, we will be able to expand our reach and respond to even more of Pinal County’s severely underserved health needs in ways we haven’t been able to before. With this award, we are now among an elite group of FQHC’s in Arizona, such as Mountain Park Health Center, Adelante, Sun Life, Marana, and others. This amazing growth opportunity makes us a stronger organization.

While this grant supports our Pinal County services, it opens the door to apply for expansion grants for our Yuma services as well as other possibilities down the road.
